Hey all, it's the end of the week, and you know what that means. It's podcast time!

This week, I chat with iSeeCars.com Executive Analyst Karl Brauer about the longest-lasting vehicles on the road and I also talk about garage fridges and the Bristol short-track shootout during the NASCAR playoffs with Matthew Guy.

You can find us here or wherever you get your podcasts.

We thank Karl and Matthew for their time and we thank Matt Posky for editing. Most of all, we thank you for listening!

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

So far my Toyota Highlander Hybrid is the car I've treated the worst over the course of my ownership. It's had all recommended mechanical maintenance and nothing else, and it's been outside in the weather the entire time. It just hasn't cared, although the yellowing headlights make me feel bad about myself every time I see them. I have no doubt it would last as long as I could possibly keep it, maybe allowing for one HV battery replacement in 5 years or so.
  • didnt we cover this already .. i swear i remember posting this already : single cam toyota v8 tundra
  • Ravenuer 1996 Maxima, bought new. Put 300K, trouble-free miles on it, when my mechanic said it was time....chassis rust was getting the best of it. Sniff, sniff.

  • Elrond 2006 Ford Ranger
  • Keith_93 This could have had VW Van magic. It doesn't. Too "another normal car" inside.
