Mods include a high-flow cat, short-throw shifter, and Pioneer audio.
It also sounds like the car has been well maintained, though the body is showing its age -- there is some sagging cloth inside and a little bit of exterior rust.

This is a $4K car.
No MKIV VW product is worth the pain and effort. The were heavy and slow when they were new. Once you get past the failed interior components, failed window regulators and the host of mechanical problems, you still have a heavy and slow car.
