Used Car of the Day: 2001 Ford Mustang Bullitt

Today's UCOTD is a low-mileage, special-edition pony car. A 2001 Ford Mustang Bullitt, to be precise.

This one has relatively low miles -- just over 32,000 -- and new rotors (in boxes, apparently) and caliper kits (may or may not be in boxes, the punctuation in the post is such that an English teacher would give the seller an F), plus a car cover.

There's new badging and fresh paint, though there are some rock chips. The car appears to be well-maintained and garage-kept.

That's about it. The asking price is $16,000 and the car is in Louisville, Kentucky. Click here to see the ad.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

  • Jalop1991 I had the Chrysler van, PHEV, 3.5 years old. We were going to go a different direction, and get a Bronco. I asked Carvana and Carmax, how much will you buy this from me for? They each gave me a number--the same number. I drove the van to the CDJR dealer and asked; he gave me a number significantly lower, something like 19% lower. I said hmmm, ok. I told him I was looking at Bronco; he said let's go look at Jeeps. Sure. WOW, those prices. What, made of gold? ✔️ So: lower trade by far, higher price by far. Yep. We went and got the Bronco. Ford knows how to unweld those tires from the lot.
