Hey all! It's podcast time again!

This week we chat with Chad Kirchner, the VP of Content at EVPulse.com, about Tesla losing market share at a time the EV market is growing, and we also get into some other EV topics, such as Tesla boss Elon Musk endorsing Donald Trump for president.

We also chat with TTAC contributor Matthew Guy about gas generators and his experiences watching NASCAR at Pocono. We also, of course, discuss what happened at Pocono last weekend.

Thanks to Chad and Matthew, and thanks to Matt Posky for editing. As always, thanks for listening.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

Tesla is the cash cow that supports all of Elon’s dreams. If Tesla goes down then there will be no pigs on Mars.

EVs in general are a scam LMAO I'm not surprised
  • 1995 SC It will be a 4 door crossover with a variable compression motor
  • Bd2 Hyundai Genesis is a fine alternative and has the 3.8L V6 which would later go on to power the legendary Telluride.
  • Scott If we had a Transportation Secretary worthy of the name he would be talking of a death penalty for any executive pushing a clear driver distraction like this. (metaphoric death penalty of course)
  • Bkojote It's funny how dieselgate looms over Piech and Winterkorn's legacy and not the fact under both of their reigns VW went from crap tier automaker to ultra crap tier automaker. The Phaeton gets held up as a no-compromises automobile when in reality you're talking about plastic water pumps, timing chain guides, and crappier foam than found in a mitsubishi mirage that rotted out by the next presidential term.
  • SCE to AUX If they had built the iDx ten years ago, I'd be trading mine in around now.
