Rental Review: 2024 Chevrolet Trax LT

In the year 2024 - a strange world foreign to anyone old enough to remember Zima - the Chevrolet Trax is a full-size car.

I was informed of this jarring fact by my local Hertz agent.

"Gosh! Is self-identification at work here, or is there some type of science to back all of this up?" I wondered.

  • ToolGuy The Yangwang U9 can accept two charging plugs simultaneously (in case you want to factor that into your charging station planning). 30% to 80% in approximately 10 minutes, but you could always stop at 60% if you were in a hurry.
  • ToolGuy Torque to pork ratio is not thrilling me (lb-ft/curb weight). Rear visibility is an open question (C-D pillar). If I got that green color I might accidentally mow right over the vehicle (not really, my lawn is brown, my landscaper is about as skilled as my mechanic). You know what they say, a rolling stone gathers no Bright Moss Green. Papa was not a rolling stone, but the Rolling Stones do have kids. This is a VW? Feels like a trap. Assembled in America (depending on definition), so that's cool. What's up with the price of eggs?
  • FreedMike Good upgrades. The Taos was always a neat little CUV but needed a bit more power and a nicer interior. Looks like they addressed that.
