Today's UCTOD is this clean-looking 1990 Mercedes-Benz 420 SEL.

This car has been in the seller's family since it was new in 1990. There are a 150,000 miles on it, the timing chain has just been replaced, and the brakes and tires are new. According to the seller, the interior is "perfect" and the outside is in good shape.

There's not a ton else in the post but you can see that it's based in Michigan -- not far from ~~Chrysler's~~ Stellantis's proving grounds -- and the asking price is $9,500.

Too bad about the "Boca Del Vista" color combo, but otherwise it's great to see a very well-kept example of the mighty W126. Hopefully the next owner keeps it up in the same condition. They aren't particularly 'fun' to drive, but they sure do exude gravitas. And the way those solid doors close...practically orgasmic.

Tassos As long as recharging times SUCK compared to ICE, and as long as the supercharger network is still too small compared to gas stations, and as long as that network is full of inoperative chargers or long queues Waiting before they can charge, AND as long as many people, especially in URBAN settings, live in High Rises and CANNOT Charge overnight at home, EVs will NOT be widely adopted.

Lou_BC My son hasn't been very busy. Service histories, vehicle specifications, torque specs, tolerances etcetera are all in the computer. They have print manuals for older stuff but that's typically repaired by DIY's or older techs can fix it blindfolded. Sales has slowed because it's all computerized.
