The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has initiated a preliminary evaluation into 77,131 Nissan vehicles due to concerns with the steering tie rod.

The investigation targets the 2021 Nissan Rogue crossover models following reports of inner tie rod failures that could result in a loss of steering control.

The evaluation aims to determine the safety-related consequences, scope, frequency, and root cause of the alleged defect. This follows a similar investigation opened in June into approximately 75,000 Nissan 2015 Rogue Select vehicles, which was prompted by reports of unintended side airbag deployments.

The NHTSA's current investigation will focus on assessing the potential risks and determining the extent of the issue to ensure the safety of the affected vehicles.

"Written by AI and heavily edited"? That's your out?You call a major automotive company "Trash" because of a recall that's only affected a few hundred (to maybe a few thousand), yet you GUSH platitudes over Tesla, who's had to recall every single vehicle they've made. What a bunch of hooey. You people are hacks.

Your healing describing Nissan as "pure trash" is gutter journalism at its worst. It was a relatively minor recall investigation. I have much experience with Nissan and they are an excellent product. So, grow up.
  • Nicholas Ford and GM never show proper long term commitment to any new market, and the lack of commitment leads to disastrous wastes of resources and poor market reception.
  • Jkross22 The best day to get mail is garbage day. Collect mail then walk by recycling bin and throw nearly all mail in trash. I wonder if they'll use these Scooby vans in cold weather cities where charging will be a crap shoot during cold snaps and battery life will be a joke for the same reason. Should've made a deal for TransitConnect vans. Those things were great. I guess Ford didn't bribe the right people.

  • NJRide Wonder how many pre-downsized domestics were traded for these. Probably 100's of thousands of X-Cars for the later 1980's Accords
