Kia released the EV6 a few years ago as its first dedicated EV and teased an update for the 2025 model year. We’re now getting a good look at the refreshed crossover, which gets revised exterior styling, new lighting elements, and a spruced-up interior.

Kia debuted the new EV6 for the UK market, so it’s important to point out that some specs and configurations could change when it arrives here. That said, the styling changes have made the vehicle look even more futuristic than it did before. It got a new LED light bar, fresh wheel designs, and reshaped bumpers. Inside, Kia added LED ambient lighting and a new steering wheel, and interior materials vary between trims.

The automaker also fitted its new batteries, with the new EV6 getting up to an 84-kWh capacity. That’s almost seven kWh more than previous estimates, giving the EV a range of up to 361 miles on the WLTP cycle in its most efficient form. Fast-charging capabilities are standard, with the vehicle able to add 213 miles of range in 15 minutes at its peak 258 kW charging speed. It can also fast charge from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes.

Kia is selling the new EV6 in the UK, with pricing starting at around $60,000 after VAT. The vehicle should appear in the United States by the end of 2024 with a slight price bump over its current $42,600 baseline MSRP.

I have an EV6 First Edition, which I like quite a bit. The extra battery capacity is always welcome, but the styling changes leave me cold. The front headlights are just weird, and they didn't fix the biggest issue with the car, which is the #@$%&! combination A/C and media controls on a single strip on the center console. Whoever came up with that design should be thrown into the same dungeon as the guys who bollixed up VW's user interfaces a couple of years ago.

Excellent eATPs as to be expected with all Kia products.
  • Fred On a positive note now you can join the Orphan's Car Club
  • FreedMike Buyer to dealer when this hits the lot: "Whaddya mean, it's five grand more than a standard truck and only goes 20 miles on a charge?"
  • FreedMike Looks like my brother's old Accord after he was done thrashing it. Dad ended up donating the car, and it was so bad that the person who ended up getting it for free - a Russian Jewish emigre (a big number back in the '80s) - somehow got our number from the agency we donated it to and called us to complain about it.
  • FreedMike Can't believe anyone would have bought anything from Fisker after his early-2010s shenanigans.
  • SilverCoupe This was one of the two cars I considered for my first car purchase (well, a '78, but same thing). My mother would have paid for the Accord, as it had an automatic transmission which she could drive, but I ponied up the entire $3000 for a used Scirocco, as it had the manual transmission I wanted. To this day I have never purchased a car with an automatic.
