Let's keep it simple today with this 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

It's got the 4.0-liter, inline-six and an automatic transmission.

It also has four-wheel drive, power windows and door locks, power seat, CD player, and aftermarket floor mats from WeatherTech. According to the seller, the A/C blows cold.

Our seller says the battery is new and this Jeep runs well. He or she will even include some brake hardware.

The asking price is $4,000 and the mileage is 143,000

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

I had an 04 GC with the 4.0L I-6. It was a fantastic vehicle. The 4.0L is pretty much indestructible.....if it hasn't been repeatedly over-reved in its life. The only problem spots I had were leaking rear axle seals - every 50k miles or so. I sold it to a friend with 200k miles and he drove it for a long while after that. https://jeepspecs.com/grand-cherokee/wj-wg-generation/
  • The Oracle This is what happens with stupid power on tap and regenerative braking in a 7,000lb behemoth.
  • VoGhost The Durango is a good looking vehicle. If Stellantis had the wisdom to convert it to a PHEV, they'd probably get another 5 years out of it.
  • VoGhost I'm curious to see what the tire life is for drivers who do not test the 0-60 times often.
  • IBx1 My 7.3 CCSB powerstroke weighed about the same and could get 60k miles out of Michelin Defender truck tires.
  • IBx1 If only they would offer a stout manual in it
