It took Tesla a few years to get the Cybertruck out the door, but when it did, the long-promised affordable models weren’t part of the deal. That’s changing, though only slightly, as the automaker has opened the order books for a more “affordable” Cybertruck variant starting at around $80,000.

  • Arthur Dailey I too absolutely 'hate' the instrument panel. And if this vehicle was designed to 'meet the needs of the largest number of people', I truly want to know who these people are. The majority of people need a vehicle that is affordable. And this vehicle has too many uncessary add ons and extra cost features that surely there will be a great many other vehicles that outsell it and that actually do 'meet the needs of the largest number of people'. As James May said, if we only purchased vehicles based on what we need, then the only personal vehicle that the vast majority of people 'need' would be a VW Golf (or similar).
