Used Car of the Day: 1956 Chevrolet 150

Today we go old school for a 1956 Chevrolet 150 that has 100,000 miles on the clock and looks ready to drive.

If you can drive a car without modern power-assist systems, that is. This bad boy is old school.

Used Car of the Day: 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle

Today's UCOTD is a rare one, at least for us -- we tend to pull from the same mix partly because of how we perceive the tastes of the B and B and partly because certain forums are simply more active than others.

Well, today, this 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle floated up into the list I use to pull picks from.

GM Offering Payments for Bolt Owners Willing to Use Battery Diagnostic Software

It’s important to have recall work done without delay if you can help it. The fixes are free, and in some cases, the work is necessary to keep you and others on the road safe. Chevrolet conducted one of the most significant recalls in recent times with the Bolt and Bolt EUV. Though it’s been a while since the initial recall action, we’re still hearing news on the situation, with the latest being that GM is offering payments to owners for using related diagnostic software.

Junkyard Find: 1987 Chevrolet Sprint ER

What was the most fuel-efficient (mass-produced, internal combustion-powered, highway-legal, non-gray-market, four-wheeled, et freakin' cetera) new car available in the United States during the 1980s? No, not the Toyota Starlet or Corolla Tercel, not the Honda CRX HF, not the Subaru Justy. It was the Chevrolet Sprint ER, and I've found a nicely intact example in a car graveyard just east of Sacramento.

Chevrolet Has a New Slogan: ‘Together Let’s Drive'

Chevrolet will be debuting a new corporate slogan during the first game of Major League Baseball's World Series. The decade-old "Find New Roads" will be supplanted with “Together Let’s Drive” during a commercial for the Chevy Trax that’s focused on promoting the vehicle’s affordability.

The brand has had loads of slogans and some are definitely better than others. While we’re prone toward remembering whatever jingles were playing during our formative years, the true value of specific taglines can probably be measured by how long they stuck around.

Used Car of the Day: 2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 SS SLP

The 2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 SS SLP is one of those cars I used to geek out on when I picked up a buff book back during my college days. So naturally, I picked this one for today's UCOTD.

Junkyard Find: 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS Coupe

When GM introduced the third-generation Chevrolet Camaro for the 1982 model year, it was 367 pounds lighter than its 1981 predecessor. The third-gen Camaro had gained most of that weight back by its final model year of 1992, but it still showed plenty of early-1980s-style swagger. Today's Junkyard Find is one of the very last third-gen Camaros ever built, found in a Denver car graveyard recently.

New EV Registrations Grew Significantly, Driven By Tesla

Listening to pundits and some media outlets, it’d be easy to believe that EVs are nowhere near as popular as their gas-powered counterparts. But, while it’s true that electric vehicles still make up a tiny portion of the overall market, their numbers are growing. The latest data from Experian shows that EV registrations rose 67 percent over 2022’s numbers to an impressive 655,986 vehicles.

Junkyard Find: 1972 Chevrolet Vega Kammback

General Motors built more than two million Chevy Vegas, and they were everywhere on the roads of North America through about the second half of the 1980s. The Vega has been a junkyard rarity for decades now, but I just found six early Vegas all within a couple of rows of one another in a Denver self-service yard. Today, we'll look at the only wagon of that group.

Used Car of the Day: 2017 Chevrolet SS

I love the idea of the Chevrolet SS -- a big, rear-drive sedan with V8 power and a manual -- though the one time I drove one, I was a bit letdown.

Still, I sometimes browse for one on the used-car market. This one caught my eye.

  • Theflyersfan 175K what...miles? Kilometers? Yards? Is this the one Land Rover in the universe that made it over 100,000 under its own power? I'd be too afraid to drive it daily. Just waiting for the first dash light - it always starts with just one - before the Christmas tree lights up, something sputters or stumbles, and then you're on the side of the road, miles from nowhere, with the toxic smell of frying electronics spewing from each vent. If you and your loved ones are into unplanned surprises and pain, go for it.
