  • KixStart Held off? No. Bought one lately? Also no, there's no real need right now.
  • 2manyvettes My last new vehicle purchase was a 2019 Ram Limited, pre pandemic. The dealers website advertised a 11.5k discount off sticker, my trade in was 7k to the good and the dealer tossed in another $500 when he found out we were retired military. 19k off sticker without me opening my mouth. That was in a galaxie far far away. Slowly coming back but I am no way near another vehicle purchase.
  • Jeff Since Covid prices and interest rates have risen to a level that few vehicles are affordable for the average buyer. Its not just home ownership but its all the other living costs like food, insurance, taxes, and utilities. Even if interest rates went down the only way many can afford a vehicle is to extend the period of the loan and there is a limit to how long a period a loan can be extended. Are 8 to 10 year loans going to become the norm and how long will most of today's vehicles last with all their electronic nannies? Many that bought vehicles during Covid would be under water and owe more than a vehicle is worth if they traded their vehicles.
  • Jeff No I don't need or want a new vehicle I have two perfectly good low mileage vehicles that are paid for.
  • Jeff These were every where in the 80s. After the Arab Oil Embargo of 1973 Japanese cars gained in popularity. I miss the days of affordable cars that didn't require 5 year or more loans and that didn't cost as much as a house. True vehicles today are safer and more efficient but they are a lot less affordable for the average person.
