Our team is busy grinding away in the blog mines, so we've been quiet this morning. We'll start your afternoon off with a treat: A clean-looking 1991 Toyota Supra.


Clean-looking not running. There's an issue with the oil-pump shaft.

This turbocharged car has 129,000 miles, an automatic transmission, and is on its second owner. The seats have been redone.

There's a dent in the hood and the trunk doesn't open.

Despite this, the asking price for this Kansas-based car is $10,000.

    I have a 87 bot new with 200k miles and 3 head gasket jobs and bot another 87 turbo 5 speed with 70k miles and new head gaskets. They cost around 4k to do these days.

      I had about 3 in mine and that included sleeving a cylinder but that was the machine work and assembling the short block. I assembled the head and everything beyond that so sounds right if you have a shop put it all together. I did ARP head studs as well. It runs really good but if you want to make a ton of power I'd start with an SC300. But if you are good with it mostly stock it's a great driving car. I imagine I'm in it for more than it's worth but the kid wanted to learn and it's hard to put a price on that. If it gives us 4 more trouble free months we are going to paint it and start working the appearance stuff. Paint is bad but rust free and inside just needs the leather redone on the steering wheel and a crack in the dash fixed. Everything works minus the unobtainable adjustable shocks. Been a long road with this one but it is a great driving car

    10,000 clams for a shell basically. Dont know what this guy is smoking thinking its worth that with a blown motor.


    Also the one to get is a 90-92 JDM model with the 1JZ-GTE. Basically the same motor as the Mark IV Supra but 2.5 liters of displacement. Tons of aftermarket support and can be made into a 500hp monster pretty damn easy. Or a 1500hp monster if you got the budget for a built shortblock and a turbo the size of a soccer ball lol

    I agree it's a great car to drive, just make sure you don't overheat the engine and you're good to go. I have over 200k miles on the one I got brand new. But it's getting harder and harder to find parts anymore.
