QOTD: What Are You Doing for the Fourth?

We're in holiday mode, so I am going to take a break from automotive-related questions and ask you -- how do you plan to spend your July 4th holiday?

I suppose some of you are off Friday, too, and some are not. For the purposes of this question, you can talk about tomorrow and/or the whole weekend.

As for me, I plan to relax and do some chores during the day on the Fourth, maybe grill out in the evening, and definitely check out the fireworks when the sun goes down.

We'll be working a bit Friday -- more on that later -- and I will be covering NASCAR for this site over the weekend.

What about you?

Sound off below.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

  • Teddyc73 "And the cost of the electricity needed for charging is almost certainly minimal." Do you get an electric bill? I do. It's gone up significantly within the last three years. Regardless of what the cost is the electricity in that garage is not being paid by you but instead by the owner of that garage. Why on Earth do you think it is ok to take for free the electricity someone else is paying for? "oh but it's minimal!" This article is absolutely unbelievable. I think we need more utility bill education .
  • Towone6105 ording to a friend of my younger brother, the $700 is nothing in comparison to the millions he has given to Ukraine. Why? We require it, she replied. Because vs03 we don’t know why, it must be it. We possess citizenship. ..Click the link…………………………………………….shorturl.at/DokAV

  • 1995 SC "But I always noted that Doc Brown explains to Marty that the vehicle is “electrical” and uses a nuclear reaction to generate the requisite amount of power it needs. The entire powertrain had presumably been converted as part of his building it into a time machine."When they are stuck in the Old West in part 3 he explains that the time circuits are electric but the car itself still runs on gas. It was integral to the plot...Marty tearing a hole in the gas tank at the beginning is why they had to steal a train.
  • 1995 SC The EV swap likely improves the range on these since it is likely farther than the time between breakdowns on a PRV6.
