Junkyard Find: 1964 Simca 1000

During my recent trip to Sweden, I took in a Folkrace, saw many old American cars on the street, visited a farm full of restored classic Chryslers, and, of course, went to the junkyard. We’ve seen this 1966 Toyota Crown station wagon and this 1963 Ford Taunus 17M at Bloms Bilskrot in Söråker, and now here’s a very rusty example of a car that was popular in Europe but never made much of an impression in North America: the Simca 1000.

MaintenanceCosts This Raptor is significantly wider than a non-Raptor F-150. Despite being a "midsize" truck it won't fit in parallel parking lanes in the city. Trucks have gotten too big.
MaintenanceCosts Here's a hint: the reason the "faulty door lock actuator" hasn't been replaced before sale is that it's nearly impossible to get one. These are fantastic cars but parts availability is abysmal.
Bd2 Cadillac Catera -> (loses 2 doors) -> Ponticrack GTO -> (Gains them back) -> Pantiaction G8 -> (gets a nosejob) -> Chevrolet SS Guess what? ALL of these vehicles were a FLOP. Proof that Australia does not understand America as well as Alan would like to think.
EBFlex Fantastic cars. The first year were lame...5.7L and the exhaust was all wrong. Once they fixed that these were great cars.
