This Nissan Z Concept Pays Homage To Its Past
The 2023 SEMA show is taking place in Las Vegas this week, ending tomorrow, and Nissan brought out two cars that meld off-roading and sports-car driving.
There was the Tommy Pike-built Safari Rally Z Tribute, which is based on the current-gen car and transformed into an off-road-rally vehicle, and alongside it sat a replica Datsun 240Z rally car.
The current car was styled to look like the Datsun -- which won the 1971 East African Safari Rally. There's more to it than looks, though.
There are KW Safari and NISMO suspension components and the ride is lifted 2 inches. Seventeen-inch NISMO Safari wheels are shod with Yokohama off-road rubber.
There are LED accessory lights, an off-road front bumper, and skid plates. The interior has a roll cage, racing harnesses, and racing seats.
Oh, and the engine is massaged to make over 400 horsepower. Components include a cold-air intake, carbon-fiber cover, cat-back exhaust, and a heat exchanger.
Feast your eyes below.
