QOTD: Will Anyone Unseat Max Verstappen?

So, Max Verstappen is returning to Red Bull.

That question is settled.

The next question, then, is can any other driver end his dominance?

The Dutch driver has three world championships, 61 race wins, 106 podiums, and 39 poles in 195 starts. And he's only 26 years old.

Can any other driver stop Verstappen? The emerging Lando Norris? Maybe Lewis Hamilton will get on a late-career run? What about, say, oh, I don't know, Carlos Sainz?

I don't watch F1 a ton, mostly due to time differences and an inability to remember to set the DVR to record. So I am going to turn this one over to you, the Formula 1 fans in the B and B.

You know what to do. Sound off below.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

The next dominant driver/team combo will come just as it has before. I'd say Max has another season, but the rules changes for '26 and whatever driver/team combos that happen to come along with that could start a streak for Lando, Charles or George.

My sources tell my Hyundai is quietly developing an entry.
  • 3-On-The-Tree Im glad it was fixed in time that would’ve been a huge pain and inconvenience to you if it had broke. My 2009 C6 Corvette LS3 has been great with no recalls. My 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 actually had a recall for the gas tank and seat belt warning stickers about 10 years go and Toyota fixed it, got a new tank, fuel lines and stickers.
  • Rochester Statistics and numbers don't have an agenda, which is why I like most lists. But these days statistics are used to validate why raw market trends are "correct"; (crossovers, EV's pro and con, the manual transmission, etc.). But by smugly declaring an opinion or trend as proven true by the market, it overlooks any intrinsic value the point of discussion may have. And when that gets lost, we all lose.
  • 3-On-The-Tree My experience with my F-150 forever soured my opinion of Fords in addition to the confirming the need for extended Warranties for American vehicles.
  • Blueice Tanks, Foo ! As a history buffet, I will take delight [switch on]on reading the course of events.
  • Nrd515 Of course, it was a huge deal if not fixed in time, but it was taken care of in time and if it had blown my engine, it would have been covered, so I don't consider it a huge strike against Dodge. A friend's chain did break and he was reimbursed for the repair cost. The 6.4 has had no issues with timing chains.
