QOTD: Which JDM Car Do You Wish Was Sold in North America?

We all know there are certain Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) cars you cannot buy in the United States or Canada. So today's question of the day is a simple one -- which piece of forbidden fruit would you like?

I am not quite sure what my choice would be, though I like oddballs like the Honda Jazz and Suzuki Jimny.

What I am curious about is this: What would you choose? If you could snap your fingers and open the market up and bring something over we currently can't have, what would it be?

We could do this all day with international markets, and we may revisit this with other regions, but today we're focusing on JDM vehicles. Consider it a nod to the Nissan GT-R.

Sound off below.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

Honda S660 roadster and that stripper Toyota truck Jeff mentioned above . Overseas they also get American vehicles we don't get like the Ford Ranger regular cab with 7 foot+ bed . Don't even get me started on motorcycles not available here like the Fantic Caballero scrambler and the Honda Hness retro bike .

Well, I'm glad I'm not in America. We have any car we like.

Its a pity the US has dumb azz import rules for motor vehicles. But, you can wait 25 years to import.

I'm glad I am American. I'm a native American meaning I was born here. I'm glad we have "dumb azz" import rules.

I bought the JDM car of my dreams, a 1997 Nissan Atlas, crew cab pickup. 4000 original miles, 4x4, dirt simple with a naturally aspirated TD27 diesel engine known as the 'Iron Donkey'. No, it did not come with the John Wayne/Rio Bravo rawhide interior, it's a truck, not a fashion statement.
