2024 Subaru Impreza Debut Set for L.A. Auto Show
The 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show media is about two weeks away. For the most part, there hasn't been a lot of news leaking about planned debuts, though we know Ram has plans for the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, instead. That said, Subaru has dropped a teaser of the next Impreza.
Admit it, you forgot the Impreza existed. I did, for a second. Then again, Subaru fans probably didn't -- the car is popular with brand acolytes.
All we know so far is that pro rallycross driver and skateboarder Bucky Lasek will be the celeb doing the introduction, accompanied by his daughter Paris.
We also know that Impreza will share the Subaru Global Platform with the 2024 Crosstrek and it will share some similarities with that vehicle.
Expect a 2.0-liter "boxer" engine as part of a hybrid system, as well as a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, and perhaps a smaller displacement engine for other markets.
All-wheel drive will of course be standard, along with a continuously-variable automatic transmission.
The rest of the specs are still under wraps, but Carscoops thinks the car will even look like a lowered Crosstrek, stripped of body cladding. We can see that.
We'll know more in two weeks.

Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

Colorado drivers, take note: this car will be clogging the left lane of your favorite freeway very soon.
Stripped of body cladding? Yea!
Somehow I expect body cladding. Subaru is plastic fantastic lately. Ruined the WRX
Since it was CES, I was hoping for an EV Impreza.
Oops, nevermind.
Will the WRX still be ugly? Asking for a friend.
