This was awesome, in 1978. Now, it's very much obsolete - thirsty, slow, ponderous, noisy, rough, and dated design even in its time. Still, someone who wants to recreate some distant memories will buy it and restore it and enjoy it, and the seller just has to find that particular individual.

  Yeah no doubt but the same is true of those god forsaken muscle cars, although they lack any kind of utility, towing, snow going, overlanding, etc.

  Sure you can assume the hobby will die out with the geezers but I know personally a few Gen Y’ers owning and enjoying vintage Jeeps, muscle, etc. If it’s cool it’s cool.

  @DenverMike - my oldest kid (21) is rabid about vehicles. As long as there are kids like him around, restoration/restomod's will not die off. The only thing that might change is the cars/trucks that they chose to fix. 80's and 90's trucks and cars are really big with his age group. 60's and earlier vehicles tend to be too expensive or too sh!tty to bother to restore. 70's stuff is gaining in popularity too.

  My nephew is another one. It only seems natural to me, but it’s all of his buddies too. it doesn’t take deep pockets necessarily. He scored on a ‘72 Grande Mustang notch I had that i traded for something. So there’s some hope for the future.

Grille must have replaced with after market, no name on it and park lights are from 77 model. 78 went to amber colored

1995 SC Usually stream in the Android Auto equipped cars. 99x came back on in Atlanta so I'll use iHeart for that if I'm feeling nostalgic. Also put everything I own on a server and I'll sync it with my phone and use it like an old school iPod. I've tried to get away from all the subscriptions.With the Thunderbird I am an idiot. I put a bunch of playlists on cassette (guess that is a mixtape) and use them. I do have a bluetooth to cassette adapter I'll use on trips so I can hear the maps directions. I just don't really want to modernize it...the tape deck looks right in the dash and Maxell still makes blanks up to 90 minutes. Given the existence of cassette adapters though this was a waste of time (especially given I had to rehab a tape deck) but what else did I have to do in 2020.
